Matthew 25 - Jesus tells a story.
A master gives three servants talents, goes away, and comes back to settle accounts. Two doubled what they had, and they heard, "Well done, good and faithful servant." The third? He buried his talent. He didn't lose it, but he didn't grow it either. And what did the master say? "You wicked and lazy servant." That's the reality. You either invest what God has given you, or you waste it. There's no in-between. 1. Get in Shape - Your Body is God's Tool 1 Corinthians 6:19-20-"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit?" If God made your body to house His Spirit, why would you neglect it? Look at David's mighty men-warriors. Look at Paul-beaten, shipwrecked, imprisoned, and still moving forward. Look at Jesus-walking miles every day, working with His hands. None of them were weak. You don't have to be a bodybuilder, but you do have to be useful. If picking up a bag of groceries is a struggle, how are you going to serve well? Move. Get stronger. Eat better. Your body isn't yours-it's His. 2. Get Organized - Take Back Your Time Psalm 90:12-"Teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom." Most of us pay to waste time. Subscriptions to Netflix, hours on social media-we are paying money to lose focus. - Reclaim your time - Track your hours. Cut distractions. - Funnel your attention - Not everything deserves your energy. Be intentional. - Handle money biblically - Romans 13:8 warns against debt. Proverbs 21:20 says the wise save. Proverbs 11:25 says generosity brings blessing. Budget. Stop wasting money. Honor God first. 3. Prepare for Sundays - Make It the Best Day of the Week Too many Christians treat Sunday as just another day. They rush in, half-awake, checking their watches. Then they wonder why they don't get anything out of church. Sundays don't just happen. You prepare for them. - Lay out your clothes, Bible, and notes on Saturday night. - Decide what's for lunch before you leave for church. - Spend Saturday evening in prayer and Scripture. If you don't come ready, you won't receive. Church is not an event-it's preparation for life. 4. Make the Kingdom Your Highest Priority Matthew 6:33 - "Seek first the kingdom of God." This year, every decision you make should start with this question: "Is this for me, or is this for the kingdom?" By this time next year, Jesus will say one of two things to you: - "Well done, good and faithful servant." - "You wicked and lazy servant." Which one will you hear? Your legacy is built by the choices you make today. Stop coasting. Make this year count.
